Evasion tactics
- Prioritize escape over combat. Unknown Worlds' current direction emphasizes exploration and mitigation over traditional weapon combat.
- Use vehicles for extraction. Keep the Tadpole Submersible pointed toward the exit before entering a leviathan route.
- Assign co-op roles. Pick one navigator and one vehicle pickup route before entering a leviathan area.
- Carry mitigation tools. The May 20 community letter specifically names flares and the Survival Tool.
- Respect currents and exits. Ocean currents and poor route discipline can still push a group into danger. Keep an exit heading and a vehicle pickup point before dropping into Sparse Plains-style routes.
- Use the post-hotfix route check. The September 3 follow-up is a pathing and collision fix, not a promise that every canyon contact is safe. If the Leviathan still catches on geometry, record the lower-canyon route, depth, vehicle state, and build.
