Subnautica 2 Dev Vlog Points Next Update Toward EA1.1

Unknown Worlds published "Swimming Forward" on June 4, 2026, the first Subnautica 2 dev vlog after Early Access launch. The post recorded the move from rapid launch hotfixes into the EA1.1 roadmap cadence. Adaptive Measures, Hotfix 4, Experimental, and EA 1.2 Buddy System have since shipped.

What the June 4 dev vlog announced

The Unknown Worlds post moved the team from the rapid hotfix cadence used after launch toward the EA1.1 update. Update 1 "Adaptive Measures" later shipped on July 8, 2026.

It also points players toward the official Discord and the Subnautica 2 Nolt board for discussion and upvoted feedback. That matters because EA1.1 is now the right destination for "next update" expectations, while bug fixes already named in Hotfix 3 should stay attached to Hotfix 3 pages.

What the EA1.1 roadmap covered

The Early Access roadmap placed quality-of-life and usability work in the EA1.1 bucket, including biomods, blight encounters, wrecks, vehicle docking and fabrication, PDA and voicelog priority, storage cache, and sprint. The June 4 dev vlog made that bucket the team's next development focus.

Those topics connect to the roadmap, biomods, vehicles, base-building, updates, and community pages. Adaptive Measures later delivered several of them, including expanded biomods, a FOV slider, sprint, and standalone storage.

Current patch baseline

The patch baseline has moved past the June 1 Hotfix 3 that this dev vlog originally paired with. Update 1 Adaptive Measures shipped July 8, Hotfix 4 followed July 14, Experimental opened August 12, EA 1.2 Buddy System shipped August 19, and Buddy System Hotfix 1 became the public baseline on September 1. Hotfix 3 still names the original DLSS 4.5 and creature fixes; later patches layer on top rather than erase that history.
